hurrah we are all free now

a new discovery: josie morway, tiny showcase, tonight!

so far it's been a day filled with little tasks, recycling, laundry, some jewelry experiments, a few packages to wrap and post. but i wanted to pause the whirlwind for a moment and say thank you for your kind words.

after i wrote the last post, i was just glad i had. the moment before i settled on the publish button, my gut said, do it. and after, though a little daunting, i thought, good, it's out there, i needed to do that. i'm glad it's done. i feel better now. but it is amazing and wonderful to hear such responses to something that usually only plays inside my mind. thank you.

lately all i've wanted to listen to is neko, neko, neko, but i think that has now changed... yesterday i went exploring through old music and searching for new, thinking of possibilities for lisa's music swap. rediscovered old r.e.m. (life's rich pageant!), and found some new favourites:

final fantasy - 'song song song' (amazing!!! 'i have a daughter who'll eat anything...' from he poos clouds)

devendra banhart - 'stewed bark of an old tree' (b-side from i feel just like a child)

sufjan stevens - 'woman at the well' (from the blue bunny)

beirut - 'postcards from italy' (from gulag orkestar)

ben and esme have been sitting in the open windows for hours, watching the remnants of winter skitter across the ground, clucking at all the birds. the cats smell like springtime.

and i have a wicked sore throat so i've just made an old roommate's brew of lemon, ginger, and garlic, the only thing that has ever licked it for me. i didn't have any lemons, so i made it with grapefruits instead. we'll see how it tastes...
